Anthony Joseph Perry
b. September 10, 1950
Lawrence Massachusetts

In Joe's early musical years he formed a band with Tom Hamilton called The Jam Band. After meeting with Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Ray Tabano, they formed Aerosmith.

By 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, and Aerosmith was on their way to history where they became the best selling American hard rock band of all time, having sold 150 million albums worldwide, including 66.5 million albums in the United States.

Joe Perry was one of the icons who is responsible for inspiring thousands of teenagers to pick up guitars and start rocking.

The band would issue their first album on Columbia in 1973, and by the late-70's, would be one of the world's biggest rock bands on the strength of sold out tours and  a string of classic albums. However, hard drugs took a toll leading to problems between Perry and Tyler. Joe left during the recording of 1979's Night in the Ruts, and formed his own band, The Joe Perry Project.

Aerosmith wasn’t the same without Joe Perry, and the 2 parties patched up their differences and reunited the classic Aero line-up by 1984. That line-up is still in place and Aerosmith continues to thrive. In fact, “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” is being released in the summer of 2008. Its the first Guitar Hero video game to be centered around a single band.

Joe Perry has also spearheaded the creation of an entire line of hot sauces entitled Joe Perry's Rock Your World Hot Sauces, which are featured widely in the marketplace.
